The anime world is raking up on isekai titles and The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody is ready to join the ranks. The light novel series, Shijō Saikyō no Daimaō, Murabito A ni Tensei Suru by Myojin Kato began serialization in 2017 and has finally received an anime adaptation. The series was acquired by Fujimi Shobo and has been been published by them since 2018.

The Demon Lord anime trope seems to be gaining popularity in anime with series like How Not To Summon A Demon Lord that explores the isekai concept as well. The English publication for the novel is under Yen Press who have provided a synopsis for the story:
In his past life, he was known as Demon Lord Varvatos, an all-powerful magic user and ruler. But he was lonely after the loss of his friends and loved ones during his rise to power, so in his dying moments, Varvatos cast a reincarnation spell so that he’d get a second chance at just being a normal guy. At first it looks like that’s going to work – he’s reborn thousands of years later as villager Ard. Unfortunately for him, his memories are still intact and he’s not aware just how much has been lost over the time he spent not existing, and it looks like that’s going to cost him his normal life.

The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody has been slated for a 2022 release but has not received a specific release date or even an anime season as a hint. That said, given that the series has been announced in Fall 2021, A Summer 2022 – Fall 2022 timeline may be possible.
The official website for the anime has also added a key visual as a part of the announcement! The anime series will be adapted by Silver Link, the studios are known for Restaurant to Another World, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X and The Great Jahy Will not be Defeated. The anime will be co-produced with Blade Productions.
The manga adaptation of the light novels is under Square ENIX and presently has 4 volumes published.

While much is not revealed about the voice cast of the show or the number of episodes that will be released in the first season, the main staff working with the production have been announced.
