The 86 Eighty Six anime has made its mark on the anime scene and is enjoying the sensation. Based on the light novel written by Asato Asato and illustrated by Shirabi, 86: Eighty Six is the story of Shinn and Lena from the 86th district of the Republic of San Magnolia. They are the defenders of their country against the continuous invasions of the Empire.
The anime is produced by the studio A-1 Pictures and they have faithfully adapted the original work. This is the reason why the anime continues to keep the fans glued to the series. They are the original manga fans as well as those who are new to the series.
86 Eighty Six Season 1 comprises 23 episodes with the last two episodes 22 and 23 were expected to come out this month. Unfortunately, A-1 Pictures studio is again staring at production delays. Though not officially confirmed, according to tipster, @SugoiLITE, episodes 22 and 23 scheduled to arrive in December have been postponed.
Since the news is not official, we can only speculate a few possible reasons behind the delay. The postponement can be attributed to internal problems within the production team and some conflicts in the programming of the anime. The production team of studio A-1 Pictures of 86 Season 1 has not had an easy time earlier too. It had to postpone the release of the anime twice, in particular the release of episode 7, initially scheduled for the 14th November, and another one to be released on December 5th.
The earliest we had expected was the 86 Eighty Six Episode 22 to get a release date will be January 8, 2021. Due to the limited availability of timeslots by Japanese broadcasters, 86 anime last two episodes can be released back to back in a one-hour time slot.
But there was another challenge aside from production issues and that would be a miss of timeslot. The studios will have to struggle to find the right timeslot as one can’t air an episode anytime you want, especially if they are coming at the fag end of teh series. That’s pretty logical.
For the last two episodes 22 and 23 of the anime 86: Eighty Six, however, the wait will be much longer than expected as their airing has been postponed to March 2022 due to production problems. In the meantime, one can revisit and freshen up the 20 episodes released to date and available on Crunchyroll with English subtitles.
In the meantime, we have another good news to cheer about.
Although Season 1 is not yet over, a special event of 86 Eighty Six has been announced for the 10th April 2022 timeframe. It will be exactly one year after the first episode of the series aired. The event will be attended by the voice actors of the series and the musical interpreters. It doesn’t stop fans from dreaming about the next 86 anime Season 2.
