The manga for the series began only in 2020 and has confirmed an anime adaptation by Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP. Shin-Ei animation has been around since the 1970s and has produced household names like Doraemon!
The manga series by Miki Yoshikawa began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2020. It actually had a one-shot from the series released in 2019 before getting a regular publishing schedule. There are currently 11 volumes of manga that are published.

What is A Couple of Cuckoos About?
A Couple of Cuckoos is a romantic comedy series that begins with 16-year old ace student Nagi Umino finding out that he was switched at birth. Nagi is the odd one out in his family, with everyone else being very energetic and enthusiastic while he is calm and collected. Nagi is invited to a dinner with his birth parents but ends up encountering a rather peculiar person.
He meets Erika Amano, a popular social media star who seems hell-bent on getting a fake boyfriend and is trying to convince him to help her out. As it turns out her parents have arranged for her to get married while she absolutely refuses to do so. On reaching Erika’s place, it turns out that Nagi’s birth parents are Erika’s parents the marriage that has been arranged involves Nagi and Erika.
Nagi refuses to indulge any of these whimsical plans as he seems to have his eyes on someone as well – the seemingly perfect Hiro Segawa.
The opening theme for A Couple of Cuckoos is titled Rough by Kiyoe Yoshioka, known for being a part of the famous band Ikimonogakari! The ending theme titled Square Destiny will be performed by Sangatsu no Phantasia! The visuals and posters for the Kakkou no Iinazuke anime have already been released!
