With his fate tied to a lineage of ninjas, Ittoki soon realizes the constant threat to his life when the lethal attacks on him begin and his fate as the 19th heir of the Iga Clan weighs down on him.
Ittoki feels conflicted when the ways of the ninja appear to him as senseless violence but the shadow of the clan seems to follow him everywhere. His choice lies between the life of the ninja clans or assured death. The Kouga Clan and the Iga clan go head to head but not in the kind of ancient ways that Ittoki would imagine. The war of the clans has also led to the evolution of their technology, making them far more formidable than just their traditional ways would suggest. Ittoki and his clan accept the battle for survival and put their odds to the test.
