Kingdom the anime series made a return this year and has already announced the next edition of its endeavors with Kingdom Season 5 which is now slated for 2024! The fantasy series is probably a bit underrated and under-appreciated for a good fantasy series.
Kingdom Anime Series is derived from the manga of the same name by Yasuhisa Hara. Produced by Studio Pierrot, the 4 seasons are spread over one hundred episodes. Kingdom manga is one of the longest-running on Weekly Shonen Jump. What is Kingdom Season 5 About?
Kingdom stars two war orphans in China during the period of the warring states (475-221 BC). The two boys, called Shin and Hyo, dream of one day becoming China’s greatest generals. Being low-born slaves, their path ahead can only be riddled with difficulties. They part ways promising each other that they will fulfil their dreams. Piao (Hyo) finds important assignments to get him involved in the wars while Xin (Shin) befriends a soon-to-be king Zheng (Ei Sei).
Kingdom Season 4 takes after the coalition and sets the country on the path of economic recovery. Qin was declared the victor but the internal conflict between Ei Sei and Ryo Fui seems to be escalating. Ei Sei is in line for his coronation but there is a conspiracy hatching on Ryo Fui’s side that aims to thwart the ceremony off balance.
Qin learns that an army facing 20000 strong is marching toward them. The initial trust between Ei Sei and his brother grows as they face a common enemy but something worse is at hand. Kingdom Season 5 will explore the part of this conspiracy that will see Ryo Fui stand in the way of Ei Sei’s ascension to the throne. Shin’s journey also awaits him in the upcoming season.
When Will Kingdom Season 5 be Released?
Kingdom Season 5 has announced a 2024 release on its official Twitter handle. The announcement followed immediately after the Kingdom season 4 final episode ended its broadcast in Japan. It was followed by an announcement video shared in the trailer section above.

The anime is slated for Winter 2024 and will premiere in January. The specific release date will only be known at the end of next year. The Kingdom anime series got its first season in 2012.
It probably will not run in quarters of the year but rather one single stretch for half a year like Jujutsu Kaisen. Kingdom Season 3 also had a similar release schedule after its premiere in April 2022. Kingdom Season 5 release date announcement should include the broadcast and streaming details.
