Evangelion: 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon a Time is the Final Evangelion Film from the much-loved franchise. The movie is a continuation of the Rebuild of Evangelion series. The film was released 8 years after its predecessor Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo. Director Hideaki Anno made it clear that the intention is not to reboot the Neon Genesis Evangelion story but to retell what lies at the very heart of it.
The movie was released in Japan on Mach 8th 2021 and with a run time of 154 minutes, it is one of the longest animated feature films, only behind the likes of films like the Revival of Evangelion, In This Corner of the World and some more.

Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time is the new version of the original Evangelion 3.0+1.0. ComicCon@Home 2021 packed some interesting announcements about the release of the film on streaming platforms. Amazon Prime will be streaming the film on August 13th!
As the most successful Evangelion film, the film opened at #1 on its first weekend and grossed a total of $92.7 million as of July 2021! The film ranked up to the second-highest of any domestic film opening in Japan in its first week, second only to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train that was released in 2020.
