What is Kaiju No 8 About?
Kaijus, terrifying monsters roam Japan freely and wreak havoc on the common people. Naturally, an anti-monster task force had to be assembled. The Defense Corps, an elite force, is created as a part of the military division to protect the citizens. On the other hand, sweepers are assigned to clear out the remains after the kaiju is killed as a part of the Professional Kaiju Cleaner Corporation.
Kafka Hibino is an average man with an uneventful life. He works as a sweeper for the corporation and hates not being a part of the action. The 32-year-old aspires to work in the Defense Corps and kill kaijus for a living. After many failed attempts he accepts his fate and continues his job as a sweeper. Leno Ichikawa joins Kafka’s team and seems to be a passionate young man who rekindles Kafka’s desire to become a member of the Defense Corps again.
Kafka, unfortunately, encounters a parasite-like kaiju who takes over his body and turns him into a humanoid kaiju. He is given the name Kaiju No 8 and realizes that he retains his conscious self when his kaiju form has taken over. He uses his superhuman powers to realize his dream of finally helping the defense corps fight the Kaijus.
When Will Kaiju No 8 Anime Release?
While there is no official confirmation of the Kaiju No 8 anime adaptation actually happening, rumours have it that the anime may actually be under production and already has an ensemble that is ready and working on the project. Kaiju No. 8 is also one of the most anticipated anime adaptations among the new shonen manga releases.
