The upcoming year is packed with a lot of great releases! Among some of the upcoming Netflix releases, Kotaro Lives Alone is also expected to have its anime adaptation release early next year. This rather interesting manga written by Mami Tsumura received an anime adaptation announcement in September 2021. The manga has been serialized in Big Comic Superior since 2015 and currently has 8 tankonbon volumes, the most recent being released in September 2021.
The original net animation will be produced by Liden Films and is scheduled for a Spring 2022 release! The anime has already been added to My Anime List

What is Kotaro Lives Alone About?
Kotaro Lives Alone or Kotaro wa Hitorigurashi revolves around 4-year-old Kotaro Satou who moves in next to Shin Karino, an unsuccessful manga artist. Kotaro seems to live all by himself and even has a job to sustain himself. He does not have parents or another family that seem to be checking on him. In rather strange ways, he seems to do much better at managing his life compared to his adult neighbours. He moves into an apartment building and begins living in apartment 203.
Kotaro Lives Alone Release
The anime series is set for release in Spring 2022 according to the recent announcement. As of now, the release schedule consists of Season 1 that will be released on Netflix. A specific release date for the anime is yet to be announced. The opening and ending themes of the anime will also be revealed in the coming months. The confirmation from Netflix about this upcoming release included the director for the series and a few additional cast members.
Kotaro Lives Alone Cast
The anime series has announced voice actors for only a few main characters that will be appearing in the first few episodes. The confirmed voice cast for the show includes
- Rie Kugimiya as Kotaro Satou
- Toshiki Masuda as Shin Karino
- Junichi Suwabe as Isamu Tamaru
- Saori Hayami as Mizuki Akitomo.
The anime will be directed by Tomoe Makino, the character design for the show is under Tomomi Kimura and the story composition is by Hiroshi Sato. Additional Cast members, key visuals for the anime and more trailers will be released in the coming months. Kotaro Lives alone also has a 10-episode TV drama that was released earlier this year.
