What Do We Know About the Death Note Live-Action?
The 2007 Netflix Death Note Live Action directed by Adam Wingard gained a lot of negative reviews from fans of the original series due to its sheer divergence and unsettling interpretation of the Death Note. The new Death Note Live Action will be produced up the new Upside Down Studio which will be headed by the Duffer brothers.
When Will the Death Note Live Action Release?
The upcoming Death Note live-action is going to a new interpretation of the series, which opens it up to a lot of possibilities. The 2017 Death Note was released as a movie with the protagonist renamed Light Turner and the story was set in the United States. The upcoming series has not made announcements about the format of adaptation but if this is an attempt to live up to the original Death Note, it is likely that we’re looking at a Netflix series instead of a movie.
The Death Note Live Action could be a multi-episodic series that could be released over many seasons, which would cover the manga more effectively. The one catch is that the new series is expected to be a new interpretation of the series which means that it will not be a direct adaptation of the manga.
We do not have a timeline for the release of this upcoming series but its release schedule will not be apparent till at least 2023.
