To Your Eternity Season 2 just got announced! The epic journey of Fushi the immortal will resume with To Your Eternity 2. The slice-of-life anime has finally been renewed for another season and here’s all we know about it till now!
The anime series To Your Eternity or Fumetsu no Anata e is an adaptation of the popular manga series by Yoshitoki Ōima. The manga was originally serialized in the Weekly Shonen Magazine and has been published since November 2016. The manga’s first arc concluded in December 2019, and the second arc launched in January 2020.
The manga won the Best Shōnen Manga award at the 43rd annual Kodansha Manga Awards in May 2019. It also managed to rank on Great Graphic Novels for Teens’ American Library Association’s (ALA’s) Young Adult Library Services Association’s (YALSA) 2019 list. The series is an emotionally rich narration of an immortal being, called the Orb or Fushi and his interactions with beings in the mortal world.
With the subbed series already streaming, the English dubbed version has also begun its run. The series has excellent reviews with 9.1/10 on IMDb, a score of 8.55 on My Anime List, and added critical acclaim since its release in Spring 2021.
To Your Eternity Season 2 Trailer
During the first 20 episodes of To Your Eternity Season 1 produced by Brain Base, viewers were introduced to a mystical character Fushi. Initially, Fushi is found to assume the impression of a stone, followed by a snow wolf, and then we find him a boy who had tamed him.
The official website of To Your Eternity (Fumetsu no Anata e) has teased a new video trailer for the upcoming Season 2. One can make out the name of the director and the studio in the new To Your Eternity Season 2 Trailer.
In the recently released To Your Eternity 2 trailer, we can see Fushi making a comeback to his solitaire origins. This time he plans to sidestep relationships so that he does not land in excruciating pain. Unfortunately for him, he cannot stay hidden from the Nokkers for much longer.
One can see the name Kiyoko Sayama as the new director of the anime. He will replace Masahiko Murata of Season 1. He is known for his works in Vampire Knight, Prétear, and Amanchu! Advance. The new studio name flashed is Drive replacing Brains Base.

NHK’s official Twitter account has shared a stunning poster of Fushi, the main character drawn by character designer Koji Yabuno. One can see a clear face of Fushi on a white background with piercing yellow eyes on the pink skin. One can also make out two spots of purple-greenish color just above his hair and on his shoulders.
What is To Your Eternity About?
At its very core, the story takes you into an emotional journey of an immortal being called the Orb or Fushi. The irony lies in the fact that Fushi comes to earth without the capacity for emotions or even an identity. He is capable of taking the form of those who leave an impression on him. As a perfect representation of a slice-of-life anime, this series delves into questions of identity, relationships, personal development, and dealing with hardships.
The manga tells the story of a lonely boy who wanders the arctic regions of North America and meets a wolf. Fushi gains companions in the form of March and Parona as he traverses conflicted lands and is opposed by destructive forces called The Knockers. The Beholder, the one who sends Fushi to earth gives him a purpose to preserve the world.
There are existentialist undertones of choosing your own path, endurance, and finding meaning in the life chosen. While it deals with heavy themes, the aesthetics and music of the anime push it to yet another level. Easy to say, it would be an unfortunate miss to leave this out of your watch list.

To Your Eternity Season 2 Plot
To Your Eternity Season 1 ended with the Janada Island Arc with Fushi and Pioran accidentally boarding the ship to the island of prisoners. Season 1 ended with episode 20 and the passing of Pioran which deeply saddens Fushi. Pioran asks the Beholder if she would be reborn as someone useful to Fushi. Fushi grieves her passing and several decades later, as a middle-aged man, seems a bit unhinged as he laughs after killing a Nokker.
To Your Eternity Season 2 is expected to pick up where Season 1 left. The first Season covered the manga till chapter 54. Season 2 is set up perfectly to begin after the time-skip. Fushi seems lost in his journey that began years ago. The new season will begin with the Guardians Arc where he meets old friends and companions he has not met in years.
To Your Eternity Season 2 Release Date
To Your Eternity Season 2 when announced was slated for release in Fall 2022. The announcement came in along with a new visual for the release of Season 2.
To Your Eternity Season 2 release date has been confirmed for Sunday, 23rd October.
The first season of the anime aired on NHK General and is likely to continue for the coming season as well. As for the episode count for the season, there is no confirmed news regarding the same. However, based on the number of chapters remaining for adaptation, some estimations can be made.
How many episodes will Your Eternity Season 2 have?
The first season adapted 54 chapters of the manga in 20 episodes. It meant 6 of the 18 volumes available to date have been adapted. There are 68 remaining chapters of the manga which could be adapted into a similar season given the pacing is similar to the first season. To Your Eternity Season 2 will adapt the Guardians Arc that corresponds to chapters ranging from 55 to 62 of the manga. To Your Eternity Season 2 is speculated to return again with 20-25 episodes. This time Fushi’s journey will start again in the name of Studio Drive, which replaces Brain’s Base.
In a tweet shared on 1st April, “To Your Eternity” (Fumetsu no Anata e) TV Anime Season 2 was confirmed to bring 20 episodes.
What about To Your Eternity Season 2 Dub?
To Your Eternity has an ongoing English Dub! Crunchyroll offers the To Your Eternity in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and English Dub languages. Unfortunately for viewers in India, the series remains inaccessible. Websites like GoGo Anime contain both versions and update new episodes on a weekly basis.
It is more than likely that Season 2 will also get a dub upon release.
