Spring 2022 has added a delightful surprise to its lineup! Love After World Domination premiered on April 8th 2022 and the second episode of the series is scheduled for release in the upcoming week! What first seemed to be an action-adventure anime has turned out to be a romantic comedy/ slice of life genre series that seems to be doing a lot of interesting things!
Love After World Domination is a manga series written by Hiroshi Noda that began publication in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine in 2019 and currently has five volumes. The anime adaptation of the series is being produced by Project No. 9.

What is Love After World Domination About?
Love After World Domination is a slice of life romantic comedy that delves into a love story between a hero and a supervillain. Much like the superhero group you may remember, Fudo Aikawa belongs to a superhero team called the ‘Gelato 5’. Fudo, the Red Gelato, along with his team members Blue Gelato Ojino, Yellow Gelato Jinguji, Green Gelato Todoroki, Pink Gelato Arisugawa and their leader, Professor Big Gelato.
The Secret villain organisation Gecko has its eye set on world domination and is consistently pitted against the Gelato 5. Reaper Princess Desumi Magahara is recruited into Gecko to battle Gelato 5 but as fate would have it, Fudo and Desumi happen to fall in love despite being sworn enemies. They continue to date each other while trying to keep their relationship a secret from everyone else. Both of them being novices at romance try to spend time with each other and protect their relationship while pretending to be enemies.
The opening theme of the anime is Koi was Explosion (Love is an Explosion) by Masayoshi Oishi and Yukari Tamura. The key visuals and posters for the anime are also out along with teasers for those who have not checked out the Love After World Domination anime!
Love After World Domination Episode 2 – What’s Happening?
The first episode of Love After World Domination zoomed in on the Gelato 5 fighting the minions of the new Reaper Princess of Gecko while she enjoys a date with Red Gelato, Fudo. When Blue Gelato finds them, they immediately engage in combat and go back to their date the moment he leaves. A flashback takes them to their first encounter where Fudo realises he loves Desumi.
Professor Big Gelato advises a confession and Fudo follows through, ending up getting attacked first followed by Desumi reciprocating his feelings. Now that the two have started dating, Love After World Domination Episode 2 will focus on their daily comical struggles of keeping their relationship a secret. Love After World Domination Episode 2 is titled ‘The Truth About Dating’!
Where Can You Watch Love After World Domination Episode 2
Love After World Domination premiered on AT-X and is continuing its run on Tokyo MX, Asahi TV, TV Aichi and Crunchyroll. The original streaming platform release was supposed to be on Funimation, but owing to the merger, all the anime listed for Funimation will now be streaming on Crunchyroll. The anime has been scheduled for a 12-episode run which equals one cour.

Kazuya Iwata is directing the anime, Satoru Sugizawa is the script supervisor, Akemi Kobayashi is the character designer and Satoshi Motoyama is the sound director. Satoshi Hono and Ryunosuke Kasai are music composers, and Pony canyon and App dream are producing music for the series.

A. The manga series by Hiroshi Noda has been published by Kodansha since 2019. There are only five volumes of the manga now with three of them translated into English. Kodansha digitally publishes the series which is currently ongoing and has received an anime adaptation in April 2022. The manga series is available on the Kodansha Comic’s website!
Q. Will there be a Love after World Domination Season 2?
A. The first season of the anime has only begun its run in Spring 2022. The anime is slated for a 12 episode release which means that there is definitely potential for more seasons.
